Annie's Story
One of our residents, whom we will call Annie to protect her identity, currently resides in an assisted living facility in Decatur, GA. Annie is a 70-year-old black woman who is blind and suffered a stroke six years ago. Despite her arthritis and physical challenges, her mind remains sharp, and she has a beautiful sense of humor.
Annie pays for her stay at the assisted personal care homes facility using her social security check and is currently in the process of getting Medicaid to assist with the payments for her stay and health needs. Since Medicaid takes approximately 90 days to process, Annie faces a gap in coverage for her medical appointments, dentures, and other necessities.
E&E Transitional Services steps in help to support the costs of Annie's dentures and assisted with transportation to and from her doctor until her Medicaid is approved. Our support ensures that Annie can maintain her health and well-being during this critical transition period.
